MapSoup is the place to share points on a map so your friends can see them easily.
Basic Use: The easiest way to get started is to first place your "My Location" point. This is the point your friends will use to find out where you are. (Don't worry, every point has an accuracy value, so you can be as vauge about your location as you want to be.)
Let's start with the buttons on the left hand side of the page. First, click on the "Go To Browser Location", and your browser should snap close to where you are right now (look for a pop up that will ask you if you would like to share your location with MapSoup). Next, click on "New Point" then click on the map where you want your new point.
Once you click on the map, you'll see the "New Point" menu, click on the "My Location" as your type of point. Now go through and fill out the rest of the information as you see fit (the only required field is the name, that now shows My Loction.) For more options, you can click "Click to show additional options" and there you can specify the point accuracy, an end date if it applies, and other attributes.
Once you are happy with your point, simply click "Save It" and your point will turn into a green marker ().
The process for entering other points is identical, but now you can put points anywhere on the map, for whatever reason you wish. Had a great dinner with friends last night and want to share the restaurant name? Make a point for it. Discovered a great surf break that you want (only specific) friends to know about? Travelling around the world and want your family and friends to be able to see where you are? Keep your My Location point up to date and they can log in and see your progress.
